Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!  I'm currently in Portland celebrating the holidays with my parents and sister.  It's baby E's first Christmas, so we're pulling out all the bells and whistles...even getting a real Christmas tree for the first time. :)

Here's a peek at our Christmas cards this year!  I can't take credit for the design though; it's from the cool people over at Minted.

Minted - Airmail

The winners of the Minted Quickfire Stationery Challenge have been announced. I'm so excited to report that out of 611 submissions, "Airmail" placed seventh! Yay! This is my first time landing a spot in the top ten, so I am beyond thrilled!

Thanks for all the support and encouragement, guys. :) "Airmail" will be available for purchase on the Minted site soon, along with "Chevron Waves," and a few other designs.

Minted - Quickfire Stationery Challenge

The latest Minted challenge was a Quickfire Stationery Challenge. This time, designers had one short week to come up with designs for personalized stationery. The designs could be for men, women, or children.

I had tons of ideas running through my brain, so I created nine designs for this challenge, but these are my favorites:

Minted - Minibook Challenge

For the latest Minted challenge, designers were asked to create designs for Minted's one-of-a-kind minibooks. Minted minibooks feature tabbed pages and allow customers to personalize the pages with multiple photos and text.

I submitted only two designs for this challenge - one in the holiday category, and one in the baby announcement category.

Minted Birthday Challenge

As promised, here are some of my entries for the Minted Make A Wish Birthday Invitation Challenge!

For this challenge, designers were asked to create a children's birthday invitation card that was inspired by a theme. A photo also needed to be incorporated into the invitation.

"Building Blocks"

"Bake-Off"

"Perfectly Pink"

The next challenge will be their big holiday photo card challenge, so I'm excited to begin creating designs for that. :)

Minted

Hi guys!

Remember that wedding invitation challenge I entered a while back? Well, I'm happy to report that one of my designs was chosen as an Editor's Pick! That means that it's now being sold as a wedding invitation suite on the site Minted.com. :) Check it out here!

I'm currently busy creating some new designs for their newest challenge, birthday photo invitations. The deadline's Friday, so I'll reveal some of my favorites then.

Minty Fresh

Have you ever heard of Minted? They're an online stationer that sells all sorts of paper goods that are designed by independent designers. They hold design competitions frequently and absolutely anybody can submit a design. Isn't that awesome? After that, the Minted community actually gets to vote for their favorite designs, and the highest score wins! There are also guest judges who choose additional judges' picks.

Their most recent design competition was called the Breakout Wedding Challenge. Designers were asked to submit 3 designs for wedding invitations that were "fresh takes on classic wedding invitations."

I've never submitted anything to a design competition before, but I thought this would be a great way to get started. I'm pretty new to the Minted community, so I guess you could say I'm minty fresh? ;) (Har, har, har...) Here are the three designs I submitted for the competition:
Classic Stripes - Wedding Invitation

Aqua Dots - Wedding Invitation

Better Together - Wedding Invitation

I think the last one is my favorite because what could be better together than milk and cookies? Okay, I can think of a few things involving cheese...but cheese didn't seem very wedding-y. :)

There's still a few days left before the submission deadline (March 8th). Feeling creative? Go design something!
